Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything.
Maybe it’s unbecoming everything that isn’t you
so you can be who you were meant to be
in the first place.
When we are born, we were complete and whole. We then receive all kinds of care and all kinds of teaching. We are conditioned from the very moment of birth. Whether we learn to cry to get fed, or whether we just lay there and get picked up, learning starts at birth. If we become uncomfortable we cry or make some kind of racket until someone comes and fixes it for us. Eventually we learn how to do things ourselves. We may start out learning because of necessity, like finding the need to turn over, or crawl to get somewhere to reach something we want to get. Pretty soon we are walking around, finding things on our own at a faster pace. Exploring and seeking out all kinds of adventures for ourselves.
Discovering life.
I remember my own children playing certain games with me. Does anyone else remember the game”pick up the rattle?” I would give my child her favorite rattle, only to find it thrown out of the crib or car seat two seconds later. It was a “see what I can do” throwing game. Or maybe it was a “this is not what I want” game that I didn’t quite understand at that time. But eventually I learned. I found a way to attach that rattle to her wrist so I didn’t have to go fetch it myself all the time. She was conditioning me. A couple of years later, my son began conditioning me on a few more things. Lessons went on for the whole family. We all learned from each other, as family’s do.
Some family’s are a little healthier than others though, or maybe it is just a different value and learning structure. Never the less, sometimes some of the the family and friend lessons are very painful and seemingly unwanted. They are some times so hurtful, in fact, that they take a lot of time and other processes to unlearn, or recover from.
Maybe counseling or other healing modalities like massage therapy, acupuncture, or body mind bridge work would be helpful. If this is the case, maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s unbecoming everything that isn’t you so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.
It’s important to be yourself and be happy. This is your LIFE !
